FAQ / T's & C's

Can you print different densities of frost?

Yes we can print anything from a 1% to a 200% density of frost. This is also the case for white and any other Ral or Pantone. We can also print seamless / smooth fades, graduations, frits etc…

Why up to 3 layers?

As we can print a single strike, double strike or multilayer, we can create transparent, translucent or opaque images / designs, viewable from one or both sides of the glass, depending on your requirements.

Why do you print on an optically clear PET window safety film?

As the film is completely optically clear it makes the design / image seem as though it has been printed directly on the glass! The inks cure onto the film and are therefore scratch resistant. The film also makes the glass shatterproof to British and European Standards; BS 6206 and EN 12600. The film has UV inhibitors in the adhesive layer which block out 99% of UV rays so stopping any internal fixtures, fittings, furnishings, stock etc… from fading. We can print on various grades of film from 2mil / 50 micron up to the heavier gauge bomb blast films. We generally print onto 4mil / 100 micron film as this covers most requirements within one installation.

What artwork formats do we work from?

Ideally a .pdf, .ai (Adobe Illustrator) or .eps (Vector file) at 150dpi full size or 300dpi half size. We also work from tifs, jpegs etc… We also create artwork from scratch, developing your ideas, to meet your requirements.

What is the print quality like?

As we use the latest generation roll to roll / flat bed digital printers & inks, our quality cannot be beaten, and in most cases cannot even be matched!

How much experience do we have in this field?

Our Technical Director has been in the printing industry for over 20 years, so whatever your requirement, we have got it covered.

We pride ourselves on being at the forefront of the latest printing technologies, ink developments & printable substrates, which is why we have & will continue to provide solutions that others have not been able to come up with.

What standards do you comply to?

Toughened glass to BS EN 12150.

Pendulum test – Impact test BS EN 12600.

Laminated glass to BS EN 14449.

Heat soaked tested glass to BS EN 14179.

Heat strengthened glass to BS EN 1863.

We are fully insured for; Professional Indemnity, Employer’s Liability, Public Liability and Products Liability.

We are also ISO 9001:2015 UKAS accredited.
